In October 2001 Vernon welcomed the Vernon and District Performing Arts Centre to the North Okanagan landscape. After more than a decade of hard work by literally thousands of supporters and volunteers, the dream became a reality.
Situated alongside picturesque Swan Lake Creek, the Centre has become a cornerstone in the North Okanagan arts community. Aside from attracting groups from well beyond the Okanagan Valley, local talent, theatre, family entertainment, and concert series from the Okanagan Symphony Orchestra and the North Okanagan Community Concerts Association keep the staff busy and audiences happy.
 The centre boasts state of the art light and sound systems, well supported backstage areas, and one of the most comfortable auditoriums in the country.
