Interior Health and Regional District of North Okanagan - Greater Vernon Water (RDNO-GVW) remind customers on provincial recommendation that newborns (0-6 mos) and people with weakened immune systems drink boiled water or a safe alternative at all times if served by an unfiltered surface water source.
Good: If the reading for your source is “Good” except for the note above there is no requirement to take extra precautions at this time.
Fair: Due to increased turbidity (cloudiness), Interior Health and RDNO-GVW recommend that children, the elderly, people with weakened immune systems and anyone wishing to seek additional protection drink boiled water or a safe alternative.
Poor: Due to increased turbidity (cloudiness), Interior Health and RDNO-GVW recommend that all users drink boiled water or a safe alternative. Tap water intended for drinking should be boiled for one minute.
