The Greater Vernon Services Committee was established under Regional District of North Okanagan Bylaw No. 1720. The Committee, under Regional District of North Okanagan Bylaw No. 1721, was delegated the authority to govern and administer the following services on behalf of the City of Vernon, District of Coldstream and Electoral Areas 'B' and 'C':
The Committee is comprised of seven elected members, plus an appointed agricultural representative for water issues only, including:
- Three (3) members of the City Council, as appointed by the Council of the City of Vernon.
- Two (2) members of the District Council, as appointed by the Council of the District of Coldstream.
- The Director of Electoral Area 'B'
- The Director of Electoral Area 'C'
- One (1) member of the Agricultural Community as appointed by the Committee (for water issues only).
